Meet Zach

Meet Zach.
One of the first people I have befriended my freshmen year of college. Despite our busy schedules, we do not see each other as much but still remain pretty tight knit when we get a chance to catch up. I admire his style and even more his ability to love people. There is no doubt that he was given a gift to love people for who they are, and I don't know many people who truly posses that ability.

Lazy effort

Hey there! I hope your week has been great!
Do you ever just have a lazy day when you don't want to put to much effort into an outfit, and it will hopefully appear to others you put effort in? Well this outfit sure surprised me when I put it together. I rarely plan ahead for outfits and this combination was literally thought of on a whim before heading out to run errands. I wanted to be comfortable, so the hooded zip up made sense while the rest really doesn't. (I mean a skirt, tights w/ white ked like shoes, a denim top gold lion chain? haha!)  But it makes sense to me so I rocked it. I literally swapped out a sweater I had layered on top of the denim shirt earlier in the day before switching to the hooded jacket which transformed the whole outfit.
So what can be taken away from this outfit?
Rock what you want and with confidence. And if you look strange, oh well.

Funky Fancy

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend my schools homecoming banquet and it was a blast. I would have to say my favorite part of it all was getting ready (no shame haha). It's not everyday you get an opportunity to dress up and I sure took the opportunity to do so! The theme of homecoming was Gatsby themed and obviously I didn't follow suit with what I am wearing lol. When I think Gatsby I think: Roaring 20's, flapper dresses, headbands and red lips. But knowing me I like to go against the grain. So I have been dying to wear this mermaid fit Ankara print dress. It was tailor made from Nigeria! I'm in love with the color scheme and how earthy and natural it looks yet eye catching. I got a ton of compliments at the the banquet on the dress too! Its not everyday you see a funky pattern dress!

So I challenge you to go against the grain when it comes to your style. Don't be afraid wear something outside of your comfort zone. You have to have confidence when you wear it and people will notice. If your uncomfortable, people will notice your not confident in what you wear. So step outside of the box and be unique!
